Gerry Colvin
Gerry was born in Barrow-in-Furness and raised in Orpington, Kent. In the early 1980's he co-founded the legendary skiffle-cowpunk indie outfit 'Terry & Gerry'. This seminal band not only earned a living for many years but performed on "The Tube" and "The Old Grey Whistle Test" and reached No.1 in the indie charts.
In the nineties Gerry spent some time in Nashville - working as a professional songwriter and later collaborated with Alison Moyet, co-writing on an album project.
As well as forming 'The Atlantics' in the early nineties, Gerry has also compered at Glastonbury Festival, appeared as a corpse in 'Casualty' and sung Big Band swing in the company of the inestimable Charlie Cheese (Mackenzie Crook). |

Nick Quarmby
Nick was born in Birmingham in 1963.
Having performed with various blues bands in the 80's, he joined 'The Dockery Boys' in 1990. The first 'Dockerys' album was recorded at his attic studio in Gloucester and soon after that, the early rehearsals for the fledgling 'Phil Beer Band' were held in the same studio. Nick still plays bass and guitar with that band on their annual tours.
Having met Gerry Colvin in 1995 at the Albert Inn in Bristol, they performed as a duo for several years, recording a debut album 'ColvinQuarmby' , which was released in October 1998.
Nick has also worked as a live and studio engineer over the past 25 years or so and continues to play bass sessions along with his live work.

Martin Fitzgibbon
In early 2000 Martin Fitzgibbon, drummer with 'The Dockery Boys' was recruited on a permanent basis and enhanced the outfit with further backing vocals and his acclaimed percussion skills.
A veteran of the original production of "The Rocky Horror Show", Martin still has the mask to show for it...another skeleton in the cupboard is that MF was the drummer on the hit 'Paper Lace' single "Billy Don't Be A Hero". |

Allen Maslen
CQ's third consecutive Welsh guitarist, Allen Maslen has been playing things in public for over 30 years.
While still in his teens he joined Coventry band Easy Street as lead guitarist/keyboard player. He continued his apprenticeship through his 20s and 30s doing pub rock with Earl Gray And The Tealeaves, dinner jazz at the Cannes Film Festival, poodle-perm metal with Thud And Blunder and session guitar on The James Whale Show, while playing three nights a week in a Greek restaurant and, bizzarely, finding time to become an award-winning BBC radio presenter.
He also flirted with musical theatre in the mid 1990s, somehow landing the part of Bob Cratchett in a musical version of A Christmas Carol at the RSC Swan Theatre in Stratford.
In 1992 he founded folk rock band Meet On The Ledge, and stayed with them as songwriter/multi-instrumentalist for 15 years. | |
